About Faith Baptist Academy
Our Purpose -
Faith Baptist Academy is provided for the members of Faith Baptist Church of Bakersfield, CA. It is not to relieve our parents of their responsibility to educate and train their children (Prov. 22:6), but to assist them to fulfill their God-given responsibility to train, protect, and prepare their children to live a Christian life which is 'Excellent in Spirit'. To see our children grow to be 'Christ-like' is our greatest desire. Therefore, we will strive to provide a quality Christian education in an environment that will aid in the development of Christian character and Christ-likeness in our children.
Our Goal -
Our goal is that those graduating from Faith Baptist Academy are prepared for college and are able to function successfully in any area of life in which the Lord may lead them. We are a Christian school that puts an emphasis on God's direction in a young person's life. Even if our young people do not choose a full-time ministry calling, we believe that they ought to be able to express a 'Spirit of Excellence' in whichever field the Lord may have for them.
Our future leaders will primarily come from our Christian Schools, and today's young Christian people need to be thoroughly prepared to take the roles of leadership in our churches, schools, mission fields, or even in the secular fields where God may place them.
Biblical Principles -
One of the basic reasons why parents enroll their children in a private school is to obtain an education grounded in moral values. Our school uses the Biblically based A.C.E. and A Beka curriculum, which includes Scripture memory passages and references to God and Jesus Christ-- all designed to help students develop moral character, and a sense of personal conduct. School policies and curriculum continue to build the student's sense of responsibility and integrity.
Accreditation -
Accreditation by a state agency is an administrative mechanism designed as an attempt to attain uniform education for all children in government schools. It was established as a governmental means of causing local public school districts to meet at what the state educational agencies determined to be minimum academic facility standards for all schools. Accreditation teams therefore investigate and approve or disprove facilities and curriculum in educational institutions according to the criteria developed by secular educational administrations who may not be Christians.
*Accreditation of a private, Christian school is not necessary for a graduate of that school to enroll in a college or university. Registrars of such are interested in the academic merits of individual students, not in the name of their school of graduation. Thus, they evaluate each applicant's academic aptitude through nationally standardized tests. This school does not seek accreditation by any outside educational institution, but does endeavor to provide the highest possible academic program.
